LiFePO4 batteries provide the safest battery chemistry on the market.  They are FAR safer than lead-acid batteries.  They will not leak, not out-gas corrosive chemicals, and are not prone to thermal runaway.  However, like all batteries, they do contain flammable materials and can still pose a safety risk if not handled properly.  We recommend having your batteries installed/replaced by one of our battery professionals.

Yes, all types of lithium batteries are generally more expensive than lead-acid batteries.  The up-front cost of lithium is around 2.5x more than lead acid.   But, LiFePO4 batteries have a far longer lifespan and will save you money and precious time due to cleaning and maintenance required from lead acid batteries over the course of their 10-year lifespan.
